MICROPHONE WIRING
Wiring Information for MICRON 500.x Series Transmitters
Pin Numbers
All connections to the 8-way Lemo plug FC 2308 are numbered by the Micron
system, which numbers the connections clockwise when looking at the pin
and socket end of the microphone plug. The sockets are numbered 1 to 4,
and the pins are numbered 5 to 8. Disregard any numbers that may be visible
on the Lemo inserts.
Signal Phase
UHF systems (Transmitted frequency above 300 MHz) The
"Normal Phase" wiring given in this list will give the same signal phase,
at the receiver main output, as that from a hard-wired microphone.
VHF systems (Transmitted frequency up to 300 MHz) The "Normal Phase"
wiring given in this list will give a signal phase, at the receiver main
output, which is inverted with respect to that from a hard-wired microphone.
(Use the "Inverted Phase" wiring, where available, to get normal phase output
from a VHF system.)
RF Suppression
RF suppression capacitors may be required on some units. A 390pF chip
capacitor is effective for VHF and an 18pF at UHF - we recommended that
both are fitted.
When pin 7
is used, fit 390pf and 18pf capacitors in parallel from pin 7 to 6.
When pin 3 is used, fit 390pf and 18pf capacitors in parallel from pin 3
to 4.
When pin 2 is used, fit 390pf and 18pf capacitors in parallel from pin 2
to 6.
Sensitivity
The figures shown in brackets, against the microphone details, below are
the approximate sensitivity of the microphones in dB, relative to that of
a Normal Phase-wired Sony ECM-55.
Please note
The connections given in this list are for the latest TX500.X series transmitters,
which have their metal case connected to the battery supply negative. The
older models - TX101, 102, 501 & 502 - were positive earth, and may require
different wiring with some types of microphone. Please refer to your original
handbook or contact us (sales@micronwireless.co.uk)
if in doubt. Similarly, if you are a user, supplier or manufacturer of a
microphone type that is not listed here, please get in touch.
